Penny Black Challenge #25 Card- No Patterned Paper

Find Penny Black Challenge#25 Here.

This weeks Penny Black Challenge was to make a card with no Patterned Paper. Quite the challenge with so much cute Christmas and winter paper out there. Here's the card I came up with.

The Background paper is Glossy Card stock I ran through the Cuddle Bug with the Snowflake embossing folder. It's coloured with SU Bayou Blue Ink first by sponging and the by rubbing the ink pad across the the entire piece which really brought out the snowflakes. I then sponged a narrow strip of glossy card stock with Bayou Blue ink and stamped Penny Black sentiment stamp along the edges and layered it onto a piece of Bayou Blue card stock and attached to the card front.

The Mouse is is stamped on a seperate piece of cardstock, watercolored, cut out and mounted with pop dots. The snowflakes are punched with a Martha Stewart craft punch. I added the dots with a teal pen and a dab of stickles in the center each except the one the mouse is holding which I thought needed a little extra something. So I added glitter to the whole snowflake and a gem to the center. Thanks for looking.

Awww, Winter!

Just a quick post for Carol and the rest of the gang before we leave for our Crazy Croppers retreat on Friday! This is another card made from the same sheet of paper as the Cozy carolers card below. I think I will end up getting about 4 or 5 cards per sheet. Its such a nice paper for creating winter scene cards. Well have lots of packing and organizing to do. Its going to be so fun!

Cozy Caroling

I've seen a lot of acetate cards lately but unfortunately the acetate that I have is to thin to stand on its own. So I decided to attach it to the card as an overlay.

The background paper is from Best Creation Inc. and comes with the sparkles already on the paper. I stamped the Penny Black image on card stock water coloured it and popped it up with foam dots. The sentiment is stamped directly onto the background paper. I didn't have white Staz On to stamp the white snowflakes onto the acetate so I used white pigment ink and embossed it with white embossing powder (careful not to melt the acetate). I punched holes through the card front and acetate and attached it altogether with ribbon.

You can't really tell from the picture but because the mice were popped up and the snowflakes are on the acetate layer the card has a real depth to it.

Thanks for looking! Have a great Sunday!

Just a quick post to show you what I worked on this weekend. I used sketch #25 from Friday Sketchers . I used some new paper I purchased at Scrapbook Swede Its by Kaiserscrapbook. Its really out of my usual color range but I'm happy with the result. Sometimes its good to step out of your comfort zone.

I used a Penny Black image and added bling for the lights. The JOY stamp was a dollar store find and the sentiment is a Penny Black clear stamp. Thanks for looking!

Also would like to thank everyone who left comments, I've enjoyed looking at all of your blogs!

Winter Bliss

I can almost feel the cold flakes of snow hitting my face when I look at this scene.
This was done on a piece of glossy white card stock.
- (1) lightly sponge on SU Sahara Sand onto the top half of the glossy CS.
-(2) Stamp the background trees using SU Sahara Sand so the bases of the trees are on the line where the sky meets the snow.
-(3)Stamp the the trees in the forground and the tiny snowflakes using white pigment ink and heat emboss with white embossing powder.
-(4)Create pond using a sponge to smudge on an oval shape.
-(5)To add shimmer to card go over white trees, snowflakes, grasses, edges of pond, and skate trails with quickie glue pen and a dazzling diamonds or glitter of choice.
-(6)Punch corners of glossy white with ticket corner punch.Mount on black paper. Put Brads through corners and attach to white card base.
-(7)Stamp image and sentiment on white. Color hedgie, cutout, and attach on pond using pop dots. Mount sentiment on black paper and attach to card.
-(8) Hand punch small snowflakes add glitter and attach them to the card with pop dots.
Stamps used: -Tree from Stampin' Up Lovely as a tree set
- Skating Hedgie and sentiment from Penny Black
Thanks for looking hope you give it a try!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I made these quick Coaster goodie basket hang tags this morning to go on the baskets I'm giving my family members for Thanksgiving.
I used SU Old Olive, Really rust and Chocolate Chip ink and the Lovely as a tree stamp set. I added the Mouse from the PB Holly Days clear set minus the snow. I sponged on the background and then added the the trees and leaves. The mouse is stamped on a separate piece of paper and colored with really rust, old olive and pretty in pink using the ink pad and blender pen technique. I used hand lettering for the happy thanksgiving as I didn't have a stamp. The eyelet is a Jumbo Eyelet from SU.
Well I should hurry and attach these so we can be on our way to spend an enjoyable day and share dinner with my family. For those of you in Canada -Happy Thanksgiving!

Penny Black Saturday Challenge Card

Here it is my Penny Black Challenge Card. Sorry the scan isn't very clear, but I couldn't seem to get it any clearer.

DECORATING HEGGIE STYLE

Another Christmas card! I'm on quite the Christmas kick. Which is a bit weird when you consider the unseasonably warm weather we've been having. I think this is my favorite so far.
I used the cuddlebug tree embossing folder for the tree and hand punched the snowflakes. Then I went over the tree, ornament, and snowflakes with chrystal effects and sprinkled on glitter. I wish the picture would show this a bit better as it really makes the card festive. The heggie is done with water colour pencils and a blender pen.
Thanks for looking! I'm off to try the sketch challenge from the Penny Black Saturday Challenge. I love when they have a sketch challenge. I can't thank Jean enough for telling me about this site.

This Penny Black Puppy is so cute. I paired him with some Imagininsce DP. The stamp around the edge is from Fancy Pants. His hat fringe has plenty of glitter. I think that's why I like Christmas cards so much you can always use glitter LOL. The snowflake is covered with paper glaze and glitter. Thanks for looking!

Thought since its been raining and we've been having a thunderstorm this morning that I'd work on a Christmas Card idea that I came up with the other day. I used a PB stamp from the Every which Way set and added the present by cutting out only the present image from a stamp in the PB Critter party Set. Used the computer to print out the Merry Christmas and meet me under the mistletoe sentiments. Thanks for looking! Hope you give it a try.

One of those cards you can't decide whether you like or not and then it kind of grows on you. Thanks for looking!

Feels like Spring

Finally some spring like weather! Time to haul out the spring colours. I just love this Stampin' Up set (Hedgehog Happiness) these little guys always bring a smile to my face.

I managed to stamp four for different occasions this last friday at Carol's crop night. Didn't have a Flower shape the right size so I used the slit punch scallop technique around a circle surprise it actually worked.
