Penny Black Challenge #25 Card- No Patterned Paper

Find Penny Black Challenge#25 Here.

This weeks Penny Black Challenge was to make a card with no Patterned Paper. Quite the challenge with so much cute Christmas and winter paper out there. Here's the card I came up with.

The Background paper is Glossy Card stock I ran through the Cuddle Bug with the Snowflake embossing folder. It's coloured with SU Bayou Blue Ink first by sponging and the by rubbing the ink pad across the the entire piece which really brought out the snowflakes. I then sponged a narrow strip of glossy card stock with Bayou Blue ink and stamped Penny Black sentiment stamp along the edges and layered it onto a piece of Bayou Blue card stock and attached to the card front.

The Mouse is is stamped on a seperate piece of cardstock, watercolored, cut out and mounted with pop dots. The snowflakes are punched with a Martha Stewart craft punch. I added the dots with a teal pen and a dab of stickles in the center each except the one the mouse is holding which I thought needed a little extra something. So I added glitter to the whole snowflake and a gem to the center. Thanks for looking.

Awww, Winter!

Just a quick post for Carol and the rest of the gang before we leave for our Crazy Croppers retreat on Friday! This is another card made from the same sheet of paper as the Cozy carolers card below. I think I will end up getting about 4 or 5 cards per sheet. Its such a nice paper for creating winter scene cards. Well have lots of packing and organizing to do. Its going to be so fun!

Cozy Caroling

I've seen a lot of acetate cards lately but unfortunately the acetate that I have is to thin to stand on its own. So I decided to attach it to the card as an overlay.

The background paper is from Best Creation Inc. and comes with the sparkles already on the paper. I stamped the Penny Black image on card stock water coloured it and popped it up with foam dots. The sentiment is stamped directly onto the background paper. I didn't have white Staz On to stamp the white snowflakes onto the acetate so I used white pigment ink and embossed it with white embossing powder (careful not to melt the acetate). I punched holes through the card front and acetate and attached it altogether with ribbon.

You can't really tell from the picture but because the mice were popped up and the snowflakes are on the acetate layer the card has a real depth to it.

Thanks for looking! Have a great Sunday!

Just a quick post to show you what I worked on this weekend. I used sketch #25 from Friday Sketchers . I used some new paper I purchased at Scrapbook Swede Its by Kaiserscrapbook. Its really out of my usual color range but I'm happy with the result. Sometimes its good to step out of your comfort zone.

I used a Penny Black image and added bling for the lights. The JOY stamp was a dollar store find and the sentiment is a Penny Black clear stamp. Thanks for looking!

Also would like to thank everyone who left comments, I've enjoyed looking at all of your blogs!

Celebrate!

I adapted a sketch from the Sketch Saturday site you can find it here. It was done as a square card but I changed it to fit a 4.25 in. by 5.5 in. card. I used Daisy bucket paper, Penny Black stamp from the Bubbly clear set, SU Celebrate stamp, Prima Flower, Happy Birthday stamp is from Penny Black Critter Party Clear set, and I used clear plastic beads for the Bubbles.
Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! Thanks for looking!
